Why Frenchies Are The Best Companions

It’s no secret that I LOVE my little Cookie Monster. He is the light of my life. Not only did he help me get through one of the hardest moments of my life, but he continuously brings me joy and happiness.

When my husband and I made the decision to get a dog, we right away both agreed that a French Bulldog would be the breed to go with. A lot of reasons factored into that decision.

  •  They are absolutely adorable!

I mean seriously, how can you not fall in love with all this cuteness? Their big bat ears, their adorable little frog legs, their short muscled body, their big heads and adorable little round eyes. And did I mention the constant frown face they have going on? It’s just the cutest thing in the world! It’s impossible not to fall in love with them at first glance! They are, in my opinion, the most beautiful dogs in the word, but I might be biased a little bit…

  • They are a companion dog through and through

They want to stay with you as much as possible and they command your attention all of the time, whether they are awake and alert, or snoring next to you. No matter what I’m doing or where I am, Cookie is not far behind. He will even lie down next to my feet while I’m putting on my makeup in the morning. I could be watching TV, cooking or getting ready, Cookie will always be next to me. So if you’re looking for a dog that will be a good companion and who will constantly stick by your side and never let you out of their sight, Frenchies are definitely the way to go.

  • They love to wear clothes!

I don’t know if you’re like me and you like to dress up your dog, but I do and Cookie LOVES to dress up! As soon as I get out one of his cute little outfits, he gets so excited. I don’t know if it’s just a Frenchie thing, but I can confirm without a doubt that all Frenchies that I have seen LOVE to play dress up. Don’t believe me? Look for yourself in the pictures below!

  • They are smart and pretty easy to train

Don’t get me wrong, Frenchies are REALLY stubborn. They are known for being incredibly stubborn. It’s in their personality. But other than that, they are also known for being pretty smart. My husband was able to teach Cookie to sit, lie down, get up and turn all in one day. He still has his stubborn moments were he refuses to do it and makes you repeat the commands over and over, but all in all, he’s pretty easy to train and he’s really good at learning new tricks. Recently he learned how to high-five and rollover. After doing some research and asking around to see if it was Cookie was the exception, but no, Frenchies are actually pretty smart and tend to be fast learners when it comes to training them.

  • They are the perfect snuggle buddies

If you’re looking for a dog that would make the perfect snuggle buddy, than French Bulldogs fit the bill on that one. They are perfect to cuddle with and will literally squeeze their way into any spot they can to snuggle up next to you. I can’t tell you the number of times I have woken up during the night to notice that Cookie has basically taken over my pillow. He loves to snuggle his little face in the crook of my neck during the night and sleep, but more often than not he tends up taking over my pillow. I could never get mad though because honestly he is just to adorable and I love having his little face snuggled up next to me.

  • They have the perfect balance of high energy and low power mode

They can honestly go from being all sweet and quiet to running around and sprinting all around the house. It happens all the time with Cookie. He will honestly be sleeping next to me for a good hour and then wake up all of a sudden and starts playing and tearing away at his toys. He’ll do that for a few minutes, than drink water and go back to sleep next to me. It’s the funniest and strangest things at the same time. So if you’re looking for a dog that has the perfect balance of being playful and going back in zen mode, Frenchies are the way to go!

So what are you waiting for? If you’re considering getting a dog but not sure what breed to get yet, definitely strongly consider a Frenchie. I promise you, you will not regretted!
